  8. Be sure to WEAR your armor and HOLD your weapons before battle.  In the Character Window, you see a list of the things you are carrying.  Double-click  one of those items until it is surrounded by a green box - now you are "using" that item.

  10. Just because you are carrying an item does not mean that you are putting it to good use!  Always check the little picture of your character to see what weapon/armor he is using.
